I have been fascinated by and interested in Scholastic philosophy since my first encounter with Aquinas, and I probably wouldn't be a Christian today if not for this encounter. This makes me a bit of an outlier in modern Orthodox Christianity, which tends to be critical of Scholastic philosophy. That said, I have yet to hear or read a criticism of Scholasticism, from an Orthodox source or otherwise, that demonstrates a proper understanding of the philosophical tradition. However, I would like to better understand Scholasticism's critics
Do you know of any good criticisms of Scholastic philosophy? Do you have your own criticisms to share?
