I'm a member of the Mormon church. I was born into it. Raised in it. Married into it.
And I hate it.
Most Mormons that leave the church leave Christ too. I want to leave the church because I don't feel they truly teach about Christ. They're more focused on convincing members that it's "the one true church" than they are with bringing people to Christ. They say this is because the church alone can bring people to Christ. I do believe in Christ and do believe he is the one way back to God. And this is where I diverge from the church.
- Belief in Christ isn't enoigh to bring you to God. You have to accept that Joseph Smith was a prophet too
- I, as a woman, only have access to god through my husband.
- Obedience to the laws and ordinances are the only way back to god
This flies in the face of everything I truly believe and feel about Jesus Christ. I believe he loves unconditionally, I believe only Jesus is our judge. I believe heaven will be full of all sorts of people who were simply just doing the best they knew how.
I'm all sorts of a mess because I don't know what Christians really believe about Christ. Christ is such a secondary aspect of Mormonism. I finally stopped going because I was so tired from hearing about Joseph smith and how great he is yet feeling so unworthy all the time.
I guess this is just a rambling. Desperate for some insight
