I am one of those generally skeptical, yet open minded, people. That should be obvious given my flair. But, as I have stated several times, come from a long background in the Christian faith (almost ended up a minister at one point) and the study of theology was something that was part and parcel to my life for years in my 20's and early 30's.
So, with that said:
I have, for many years, went ghost hunting. I started doing so because I wasn't about to believe just anything I read in books or saw on TV. Buy a digital audio recorder, go out myself, and see if it was all BS or not.
From my experience, it was not. I have, over the years, recorded many things I can't explain, which suggests that there is more than just this physical realm.
My very first outing I did to get some baseline stuff, in a cemetery (wanted to see how sounds came out, etc and so on). And I picked up someone saying "Go away".
Now, I tested that too. Had other people listen and didn't tell them what I heard (you never tell them, taints it). From family, to friends, to my engineers, they all heard it as plain as day (male voice in this case).
This has happened many, many times. Enough to simply say "Yep, there is something there."
But from a religion point of view? Do ghosts exist? They obviously do in some religions. The only reply I have gotten on the christian side is that they are 'demons'.
