I go to a small, non denominational church in Georgia. We fund a lot of charity/mission type things, and our congregation just raised money for 10 of us to go on a mission trip this summer, so funds are a little low at the moment.
Recently we've had a young man who has started coming every Sunday and Wednesday evening. He's a college student, works a part time job.. but doesn't have much family in the area, or alive for that matter.
We honestly do not care what he wears at church, but he has twice now expressed embarrassment that he cannot afford to buy nicer clothes to wear to church.
I can only afford to buy him a shirt or two myself, as I don't make much money either, so I was wondering if any of you might be able to chip in and buy some clothes for this young man. I asked for his sizes, but he's certainly not expecting a ton of clothes. I just want to make him feel more welcome and a better sense of belonging.
He needs:
-
White button down shirts. Chest 38-40, sleeves 36
-
medium size white undershirts
-
an assortment of ties
-
dress pants/khakis 32 X 30 slim
-
church appropriate shoes. size 9. some sort of boat shoe type would be fine.
-
If anyone feels like buying boxers or boxer briefs, medium size will work.
I do not believe there are any rules against posts like this, and I'm not asking for money, just clothes. If this does break sub rules just let me know and I'll remove it!
PM me if any of you can help. I know his young man would be very appreciative.
