As the title says, I'm beginning to accept the theory of evolution after years of being taught in private evangelical Christian school that it was all a bunch of hogwash. But there are some things that I still don't get and it's making my outlook on humanity kind of bleak.
OK, so if we're not special, if we're like every other animal then we're just these beings on a rock hurdling through space that evolved and God thought would be pretty cool to evangelize. We're just kind of here and compared to stars or angels or anything magnificent we're just...apes. I don't know. It makes me feel small, and not in the good way. Besides that when did we get our souls or sentience? I'm not trying to argue or be confrontational, but I'm asking as an earnest Christian who wants the truth no matter the cost. Thank you so much guys!
