Valley of the Shadow of Faith
We have all felt as if we were down in a valley at some point in our lives. More then the a few times for must of us. Truth is however the appearance of the valley is nothing more then a test of our faith. When things aren’t going our way its natural for us to wish things were more idea.
This however is not God’s plan or else things would have been as you wish. Not to say at some point the destination your praying for won’t be realized. But at the current moment the valley your journeying through is exactly where you belong. We only have to remember who God is. Paul put it like this in Romans saying
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?.
Romans 8:31
Psalm’s addresses the valley directly saying
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
In other words with God there is no valley. As dark as the valley may seem there is no darkness that the light of God can’t extinguish. There is no enemy who can stand against us that should provoke us to be weary. We only have to put our faith in the one true living god and our valley becomes a mountain top we were praying for all along.
This may sound a little like a famous quote from Jesus in Matthew regarding faith.
He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20
