Isn't it fair to say that Christ's message is packed with inconvenient themes that many high-profile Christians choose to ignore because they don't play well with their personal ambitions or political prejudices?

There are some recurring themes in the teachings and actions of Christ that, no matter how inconvenient, cannot be photoshopped out of Christianity. These are themes that crop up again and again in the message of Jesus.

I am talking about such things as the theme of:

love
forgiveness
healing the sick
welcoming in strangers
making peace and avoiding retaliation
helping those who are suffering
rejection of wealth
rejection of money-making in the church.

I find it deeply disturbing that some of the loudest and most strident voices in the Christian community come from those who want nothing to do with these Christ-given themes.

Never fails to amaze me when I hear atheist tell me how evolution, the big bang theory, etc are fact. I am told how great minds agree on them so they obviously have proof. Swagbucks at first seems too good to be true right? They are just going to give you free stuff for just searching for a word in their search engine, watching videos, answering a few simple questions.
