Hi everyone. I've reached the end of my rope here and would love some prayer.
The short version of this story is that I have an infection in my balls which no one, in real life or online, seems to have a solution for. I've asked doctors, I've asked reddit, I've asked Google.
I'm 22, never had unprotected sex (never even had sex at all) and since about May last year my testicles have been in pain. I've been on a few different medications for it, which seem to dull the pain while I'm taking them, but once I finish the pain comes right back. I was diagnosed with epididymitus, though maybe that's not even correct.
Here are my symptoms:
-Mild to heavy aching in one or both of my testicles, pretty much all the time -the pain can resonate through the rest of my penis or down my leg or in my butt.
-My glans occasionally feels sore, as if it has a rash on it (it doesn't). This doesn't happen very often.
-My urethra occasionally feels swollen, and when I pee I can feel it stretching. This doesn't hurt really, just feels strange like a balloon being inflated
-My testicles don't look or feel different in anyway. They aren't really swollen or any larger than they usually were, a few times I felt my epididymis feel a little swollen.
-The pain comes and goes randomly, sometimes when I'm exercising its very very mild which is strange, but it's pretty much constant.
After the first month of the pain, I returned to my home town for a weeklong visit (I shifted cities at the beginning of the year). This was just after I had finished one trial of meds (clipflox) and after a day, the pain seemed to vanish. It didn't come back until a few weeks later, when I was back in my city. I've been back to my hometown a few times since then as well as to another country and the pain has always stayed in various degrees of intensity, I've never felt completely healed.
Sometimes when I've slept on a different bed or been in different temperatures, the pain subsides too. I thought this may have been because my mattress was a slightly filthy thing I had got for free from someone throwing it out, but I got a new bed and new bedsheets and the pain has stayed. I've done two trials of Cotrimoxazole, which, like I said, dulled the pain somewhat for a few hours each day but as soon as I finished them the pain returned. I also did a six week course of another antibiotic which did very little to dull the pain.
I've seen three doctors about this. But if any of you have better ideas I'd love to hear them. I'm pretty desperate and am worried I'll have to live with this forever, as the success stories online are very rare and pretty grim. I'm pretty scared and worried I'll fall into depression if it never goes away. I haven't even had sex yet and I feel like I have an STD. Please pray.
