I have noticed a few users here that are not Christians who seem to be here solely to argue against Christian beliefs. For example, an atheist recently posted an article very negative towards christianity (which I have no problem with), and when I took a quick look at their submitted posts, almost all of the links they submit are of certain Christians doing bad things (or opposing same-sex marriage).
To be clear, I definitely recognize that there are christians in the world who do some pretty terrible things. However, this sub, according to rule 2.1, is "primarily, but not exclusively, a place for Christians to come and discuss different aspects of our theology. Please have a purpose higher than coming here to mock, insult, or deride aspects of Christianity or Christianity itself." Continually posting articles about christians doing bad things is not consistent with this.
Overall, I love most of the non-christians who participate here, and I am very glad they do! I just ask that people consider their motivation for posting a link here before they do so. I don't have a problem with people posting articles that are negative towards christianity, but I just don't think that should be the primary reason they are here.
I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts on the topic!
TL;DR - The bolded sentence above :)
Edit: Please don't turn this post into a chance to bash atheists or our mods!! The sub is open to anyone, and I am thankful for what the mods volunteer to do!
