A serious question about having faith

In 2012, the world population was ~7 billion, with an estimated ~6 billion religious believers. The most followed religion was Christianity, with ~2 billion adherents. In other words, if religion is real, there are still at minimum ~4 billion people who follow religions that aren't real. Given that at the absolute minimum 2/3rds of humanity believes in something that doesn't exist, how can you be confident that what you believe in does exist? Confident enough to shape your life around that belief? I've thought about religion a lot but I'm not sure I could ever have faith that I'm in the "correct" minority of the world's population.
